Cavanaugh!

  • What I'm Watching/Listening To/Reading:
    • So far on The Amazing Race, I've determined that a) Mark and Bill are the poor man's Mythbusters and b) Sara (of Terrence and Sara) is a grown-up female version of Jared from Kid Nation (maybe not as funny).
    • I miss Kid Nation.
    • Funny Entourage tonight. Very good comic timing during the tripping scenes.
  • Random Thoughts/Links:
    • According to NBC tonight, the Detroit Lions have yet to lead at any point this season.
    • The Phils have it set up for Hamels and Myers to go in Games 1 and 2. The Dodgers are red hot, but it's hard to pick against that kind of pitching.
  • Daily Rant:
    • I can't take some of the idiots that sit near me at the Ravens games. One guy today yelled and yelled about how great Kyle Boller was when he began his career (he wasn't) and how people should stop cheering the new coach and QB. This is the same guy who booed the old coach and QB. I'd love to point that out to the guy, but he takes this crap so seriously. As big into sports as I am, I can't imagine putting so much of my own sanity into a game, especially a random one in week five.

I know what you are saying about obnoxious fans. Yesterday, I was at Grevey's, a Bills bar, sitting far too close to the "Yessss" guy. The "Yessss" guy cheers excessively when his team gets three yards (even though they needed four to keep the ball). He was the same guy who bad-mouthed JP Losman until Losman threw a bomb for a TD.

I was thinking the same Mythbusters thing as I was watching TAR episode one. That or the one guy looks just like Brian Posehn. Entourage was great this week, and this season, and it's actual turmoil has been great. Playoffs have been great (Playoffs?!? PLAYOFFS?!?) from what I read, but I've yet to see a game beginning to end. I need some free time.

Hey, wait a minute; I sit near you at the Ravens game. I was yelling about Kyle 'Unitas'. How dare you question me? (kidding) Best part was when that guy started seriously yelling about getting back Billick.

Good call on the Amazing Race nerds. I'm rooting for them, but I think they'll ultimately prove to be too out of shape for the more physical challenges of the show. I never saw Kid Nation, but Terrence whines and complains like a child. Did he really ask her to blow on the scratch on his forehead?

Even though they lost, I think the Ravens should be proud of how they played in that game. Boller has gotten about as good as he ever will, and that ain't great, so you might as well stick with Flacco. And I think Harbaugh has done a good job with the team. If the Ravens schedule was a little more forgiving (it's surprisingly tough for a team that went 5-11 last year) they could actually be a contender in a weak AFC this year.
