You know how everyone remembers Whitney Houston's National Anthem before Super Bowl XXV as the greatest performance ever of the song? From the 1983 All-Star Game, here's Marvin Gaye. Top this.

Whitney Houston's Star Spangled Banner was Lip-synched. How could it be the greatest performance ever? I'm feeling overly patriotic today because we went to Fort McHenry.
Nope, sorry, not really a fan of that version. The national anthem should not take 2.5 minutes to sing nor should it be sung to music that invites the crowd to clap along with the beat! (not saying it wasn't a good vocal, just not a fan of the version)
Should also say -- I love the fact that we allow for different expression during our national anthem. That it can be played at an exact tempo by the Marine Corps Band or it can be turned into an R&B song that gets the crowd involved or that Jimi Hendrix could play it on an electric guitar at Woodstock as an intro to Purple Haze.

She still sang it, just lip-synched it for the actual game.
Hope you found parking (and Charm City Cakes, if you chose to look for it) okay.
